Adding a DMARC record with Namecheap

Option 1 - If your domain is pointed to their BasicDNS, PremiumDNS or FreeDNS.

  1. Log in to your Namecheap account.
  2. Choose Domain List from the menu.
  3. Click on the Manage button next to your domain.
  4. Navigate to the Advanced DNS tab and click on the Add new record button.
  5. Click Add record.
  6. Here you will add the TXT record:
    • Type:
      TXT Record
    • Host:
      _dmarc
    • Value:
      v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:rua-import-xxxx@sendforensics.com
      [Notes: replace rua-import-xxxx@sendforensics.com with your own unique SendForensics RUA processing address which can be found in Domain Settings for your domain.]
    • TTL:
      60 (1 minute - so that you do not need to wait too long before verifying)
  7. Click on the Save all changes button.
  8. Wait for a few minutes, then you can verify that you have the correct record entered in Domain Settings for your domain.

Option 2 - If your domain is pointed to Namecheap Web Hosting DNS.

  1. Visit their instructions here (open in a new tab/window for convenience): https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/9256/29/how-to-edit-dns-zone-in-cpanel/
  2. When it comes to adding a new record navigate to their TXT record section (ignore the DMARC record section - it may complicate things too much at this stage).
  3. enter the following:
    • Name:
      _dmarc.yourdomain.com
    • TTL:
      60 (1 minute - so that you do not need to wait too long before verifying)
    • Type:
      TXT
    • Record:
      v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:rua-import-xxxx@sendforensics.com
      [Notes: replace rua-import-xxxx@sendforensics.com with your own unique SendForensics RUA processing address which can be found in Domain Settings for your domain.]
